Baden-Württemberg supports structural improvement measures in rural areas with various funding priorities. This information sheet relates to the funding priorities "Work" and "Basic services".
These focus on investments to secure and create jobs in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), on the disentanglement of incompatible mixtures in village centers and on measures to secure the basic supply of goods and private services (e.g. village inns, butchers, bakeries, doctors, craft businesses, etc.).
The funding is granted as a non-repayable subsidy.
Focus on "Work":
Here, the grant amounts to up to 15% of eligible expenditure for structurally significant projects and up to 10% of eligible expenditure for other measures. The grant is capped at a maximum of €250,000.
New construction projects in the "Work" funding priority are only eligible for funding if they are built with the predominant use of resource-saving, CO₂-binding building materials such as wood in the supporting structure.
Focus on basic services:
In the "basic services" funding priority, funding amounts to up to 20% of eligible expenditure for small companies and up to 30% of eligible expenditure for micro-enterprises. The upper limit is €250,000.
Subsidy supplement for CO2-binding building materials:
For modernization or conversion measures in the two funding priorities "Work" and "Basic supply", a funding supplement of 5% can be applied for in conjunction with CO₂-binding building materials. The maximum funding limit in this case is €300,000.
Small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 100 employees (full-time and without trainees) from rural areas in Baden-Württemberg are eligible to apply.
Applications are submitted in two stages. The projects may only be started once the L-Bank has approved the funding and the funding notification has been received.
Only individual projects whose construction begins in 2025 can be registered.
Applications for inclusion in the funding program must be submitted by the applicant cities and municipalities by 30 September 2024.
